Unique French antique locket pendant in a puffy oval shape with center glass panel / pane inside that flips between the two sides to tuck a photo or lock of hair behind.
The cover is set with four amazing garnets that are flat cut in a diamond shape and reflect the light beautifully. The sides and back with ornate engraved details. Very eye catching with beautiful coloring especially to the deep pinkish purple grape to rich red wine hues in the garnets. It's almost like an egg shape but slightly more oval, still quite chubby & deep. thick.
French hallmark for 18k on the loop

It weighs a sturdy 6.1 grams.

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition.
Several shallow impressions on the back that give it a rippled appearance on the back cover, the engravings help mask the wear and it faces the back so fortunately the front is in good shape. Some scratches and abrasions to the stones, if you study the surface at angles you can see them. Stones have a beautiful coloring and glossy sheen overall though. Slightly varying hues to the natural garnets. Please also note that I take some photos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description. It looks like they reinforced the loop with a weld but fortunately they preserved the hallmark. Some natural inclusions to the garnet that can catch the light like tiny flecks under magnification.
But my disclaimer with all my estate pieces - due to age, please note this piece is not in mint condition.
