UNIQUE Opening Hook Kreisler Antique VICTORIAN XL Pendant Holder 1/20 12k Gold Fill 24mm Sister Clasp Pendant Holder Connector

Very unique antique jewelry part with two hook shaped sides are hinged together with a rivet so they can be slid open to connect a pendant or chain and then slid closed. Interesting piece!  I am told its technical term is "sister clasp".

These are just nice to have on hand when building your neckmess / neck stack. There are plenty of reproductions of these made but this is an actual Victorian era antique piece. It has the little rim around the spring loaded part so you can use it as a catch to pull it open with your fingers and then it springs back closed.

Nice and sturdy, gold filled with rich antique patina. This was probably originally on a watch chain, but I like to keep one of these on a split ring that I can run on any of my chains and then use it to rotate pendants quickly and easily. I mix it in with my slides or it is a fun accent to a chain.

Antique box and additional slides, pendants, chains, etc. not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos where I am required to show zoomed in photos for detail. That is one reason I include a group shot to hopefully help show scale : ).

Stamped Kreisler 0.25 Gold Content which is the same as 1/20 12K GF gold filled.

MEASUREMENTS:
24mm end to end including the loop by 16mm when closed. Weight is 2.4g.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As you can see in the video, the hinged end is not very tight so it does slide open and closed quite freely. However, when a pendant is added, I tried to dangle and shake it and it does not come open. I think the weight of hanging something from it helps keep the two sides nested together? Please do note that as I am not sure how "super sturdy secure" it would be depending on how it is worn.

Some loss to the gold fill especially to the insides that rub and to the ends along with some pitting from age to the gold fill.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
