Unique Purple Fancy Cut Garnet Scalloped Halo Ring Rose Cut DIAMONDS French Antique 18k Gold

ABOUT:

Unique for a halo ring, this one has a custom fancy cut scalloped purple garnet at center. The other unique thing about it is the rose cut halo which is also scalloped to match the curves of the beautiful center stone. The garnet has a flat back and a domed top, with varying shaped facets leading up to the top which comes to a point like a rose cut, but is polished to a small diamond shaped culet. Very interesting, clearly custom, and quite beautiful.
Pretty coloring and sparkle for this stacker.

The piece is crafted in buttery, warm 18k gold with with scrolled forked shoulders. This is a Paris find with French hallmark for 18k gold.

Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pics. Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
A very slightly snug size 7 1/4. The ring face is 14mm north south by 11mm and 6mm off the finger. The piece weighs 2.7g.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The garnet shifts and clicks when you tap it but is still very secure in the setting, perhaps a local jeweler could tighten it, it is still very wearable. None of the stones are missing, it's just that some of the rose cuts have a gray hue from build up because the backs are so hard to reach, even though I did give it a cleaning. They are typical rose cuts, irregular rough cuts, frosty edges and some natural inclusions, they were always this way as they are small and just meant to add a glint of sparkle. A few small flea bites to the beautiful center stone but a nice sheen and polish and not heavily abraided at all, so better than most considering age in that regard. Please note the pics taken in the sunshine when I am holding it up, seem to accent the surface wear and make it appear worse than it actually is, but I wanted to highlight the wonderful color and sparkle. A unique and wearable one with a fabulous color and shape and the lovely glint of sparkle from the rose cuts.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
