Personal collection release! This ring face is so ornate, it reminds me of intricate hand made lace. Gorgeous scrolling details accented with rose cut diamonds with a rectangular panel face. At the center is an old mine cut diamond raised in prongs.
French Belle Epoque period ring with their hallmark for 18k gold.
Antique boxes, props, mice, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6. Ring face is 20x11mm. It weighs 5 grams.
The center diamond is a little over 4mm and over 1/4 carat alone. The rose cuts are smaller but there are 47 of them so a lot of sparkle.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some faint natural inclusions as we often see during the period, before such things were emphasized for machine cut diamonds. The rose cuts especially are typical with frosty spots and rough edges, especially the smaller ones as these hand cut accent stones always look this way. Excellent sparkle with a great antique look.
There is solder inside each shoulder but I think it was always a ring? Perhaps just needed a little reinforcement or it was done when it was made. Some of the filigree lattice openings have gold in them on one end so the openwork isn't as crisp but the pattern is still visible.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
