ABOUT:
Dainty antique chain with high quality fabrication and the most beautiful buttery glow. I often get requests for antique chains and they are hard to find, this is a lovely one. The links are a small, round cable chain soldered closed (no seams) and with two connected loops per link. Great antique look with a rich antique patina.
The spring ring clasp is stamped 9k and appears to be a newer replacement. As I was studying the chain, it appeared higher carat to me, so I double checked it and it tests strong at 14k. The spring ring still blends nicely with the chain.
When wearing the chain with the clasp to the back, there are two larger loops on each side, exactly opposite one another. I'm not sure what the purpose is of that, perhaps just a design element.
Please note the measurements as it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
18 3/4 inches stretched end to end, it weighs 5.05 grams. Dainty gauge, about 1.5mm
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A ripple here or there from an out of round loop not noticeable when wearing. It can twist and the links can get hung up on eachother at times but then straightens. So no permanent damage. Beautiful antique gold.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
