Victorian ANTIQUE Purple Amethyst Ring Rose Cut Diamond Gemset Prong Halo 18k Gold Braided Buttercup French Belle Epoque
ABOUT:
Romantic Victorian era antique amethyst ring with a halo of rose cut diamond set prongs surrounding the center lilac purple stone. I love gemset prongs in antique settings as it adds an interesting sparkle. Gorgeous braided shoulders leading up to the ornate buttercup face.
Found in France. With their hallmarks for 18k gold and a goldsmith stamp.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7. The ring weighs 2.9grams. The amethyst is about 4.5mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some facet abrasions to the amethyst giving the crown facets a matte finish.
Typical old rose cut diamonds with in irregular shapes with frosty and rough edges, likely always rough cut that way. They are small so this is not real obvious to the eye unless looking for it, they just add a nice little glint of sparkle. One is a rectangular shape and doesn't fit the bezel perfectly. One has a flat edge and may have chipped.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still wearable.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
