I had a "clean out the jewelry box" moment this week and decided to release several pieces from my personal collection.
I love a glowing Bohemian garnet. This one is fun to wear in a neckstack as the 3D sphere can roll around and catch the light. Victorian antique Bohemian rose cut garnet cluster pendant completely encrusted with glowing red stones on all sides.
The piece is in silver with some gilt areas. These Bohemian garnet pieces were a popular / world renowned trend with these types of rose cut garnets in the closed back setting. This jewelry was very popular in the 1800s and remains highly collectible - and very beautiful still today! The way the deep crimson red garnets glow and reflect light from within - they are like no other.
Any props not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos..
MEASUREMENTS:
Pendant measures 16mm in diameter. It weighs 5 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
No stones missing, no major chips or cracks or anything glaring even under magnification. Some buildup between the stones and possible adhesive residue as that is how these are always secured. Some tarnish and the gilt finish on the silver is mostly worn so the small loop and bale appear silver.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
