ABOUT:
Timeless diamond cluster dangle earrings with a great antique look. These French antique pieces are crafted in 18k gold and topped in silver, with the little latches testing at 14k and slightly rosier in color. With sturdy closures, the open back settings are nice to find with rose cuts in that there is no foil back to discolor over time.
A wonderful moody sparkle with the patina of the silver tops contrasting with the rough cut diamonds. These were meant to be worn in candlelight and fireside settings. Found in France, no hallmarks remain but sold to me as gold and tested.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
9mm in diameter each. The diamonds are about 2 to 2.8mm.
The pair weigh 2.8 grams combined.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As with all my pieces this is in estate condition. Typical antique rose cut diamonds that were cut by hand with irregular shapes and natural inclusions but they have a nice moody sparkle with all 18 of them catching the light. They have nicks, rough edges, irregular and frosty and nibbled sides, they may have always just been cut that way since they were cut by hand. Some warmth and natural inclusions, they are small and meant to add a glint of sparkle but do note that they do not appear like the perfect machine cut diamonds of today. Still wearable. There is wear to the prongs and diamonds but earrings are by nature gently worn. Still for 100 year old pieces, they are not meant for 24/7 wear. But as with all my pre-owned pieces - Please note this is not a mint condition item.
