ABOUT:
Vibrant natural blue zircon prong set in a sleek and sturdy flared setting in a warm rosy 10k gold.
Not to be confused with "cubic zirconia", blue zircon is a very sought after natural gemstone, one of the birthstones of December and can often be scarcer to find than many other gemstones. Just like a diamond, natural zircon is known for its scintillation, brilliance, and flashes of color or fire - all very sought after properties.
This vintage to Art Deco era ring is very striking alone and also layers so beautifully to add a wonderful pop of color. Looking into the stone under magnification the facets form a star shape like looking into a kaleidoscope. There is a lovely darker patina in the recesses of the gold work, typically sought after for older pieces.
Stamped 10k inside and I believe also M&G for the manufacturer?
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 9 3/4. It is 9mm north to south on the finger and 6.5mm off the finger. The zircon is 7mm so around a carat.
The piece weighs a sturdy 4.1g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some nibbles and facet abrasions detectable if you study the facet edges in direct light but the open table has a great shine and polish so it is really just the little edges between facets that have some wear.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
