ABOUT:
Versatile three stone gypsy band stacker with center domed rose cut that crops out of the bezel like a little disco ball. Flat backed like most all rose cuts but a nice domed height so it grabs the light from all angles. It is flanked by a brilliant cut diamond on each side. French vintage piece with hallmark for 18k gold in an open backed setting.
The gypsy ring was incredibly popular during the Victorian era into the early 1900s and its timeless design remains an ever favored and wearable choice for today. This ring is substantial enough to wear alone but also layers well with other pieces. Rings such as this were also a popular choice for men to wear during this period as well so it could be considered unisex ring.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is a size 8 on my mandrel, just a little over but does not reach 8 1/4,
The center diamond is 5.5 by 4.5mm. The side diamonds are each about 2mm, give or take.
The ring face is 6.5mm north south and stands 4.3mm off the finger.
The ring weight is 3.1grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
No chips or nicks or eye visible inclusions.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
