ABOUT:
Timeless double row stacker band holding 18 old mine cut diamonds pronged in square settings. Great geometry to the piece with a flat north / south edge to the ring face that stacks well with other pieces. The 18 diamonds total around 1 1/4 carat total weight. Found in France, this vintage to Art Deco era piece is crafted in 18k white gold with the ring face / diamond settings in platinum. Shank tapers at the shoulders but remains quite wide all the way around.
This is a true half hoop with the diamonds spanning all the way across the top half of the band for full finger coverage and excellent sparkle. The ring face has a great texture.
French hallmark for 18k gold and platinum.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 7 - slightly over, but does not reach the 7 1/4 line. It weighs a 6.2 grams. Ring face is 6.4mm north to south, and tapers towards the back bur reminds sturdy there as well at 3.4mm. The diamonds span 21mm east west. Each diamond is about 2.7mm for a total carat weight of around 1 1/4 carats, I would not remove them for an exact measurement.
CONDITION NOTES:
Slightly warm glow to the smooth area of the shank from natural aging to the white gold, which appears as a subtle contrast to the ring face which is a more vibrant white platinum. Typical antique diamonds with some frosty or speck inclusions seen under strong magnification. No large dark carbon spots or anything glaring as the stones are small so you really have to study them. Prongs look good so this one can shine with regular wear.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
