ABOUT:
Striking robin's egg blue enamel oval domed ring with star detail at the center set with a pearl. The pice is in 18k warm rosy antique gold with scrolled openwork shoulders and a ribbed shank. The back of the ring face is closed back in gold and curved to hug the finger comfortably. Underneath the enamel is silver but the rest of the piece is in gold.
This French antique piece from the late Georgian to early Victorian era is one I purchased in Paris. No hallmarks remain but sold to me from a reputable source there and tested to confirm.
Antique box is not included. Listing is for the one ring with the others in the stack shown for color comparison and scale.
Sturdy piece but one edge of the enamel has chips with loss down to the silver below. I've heard of people using enamel paint to fill in which is less intense than enamel repair. The reset of the enamel also has wear from years and years giving it a sort of matte finish which is quite lovely as it is soft / satiny, it really looks like a robin's egg shell with the same sort of texture and appearance. The pearl is quite worn to its layers and has a warm patina from age.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 3/4 . It weighs 4.4 grams. The large ring face is 18x11mm. And domes 5.5mm off the finger.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
