ABOUT:
Heavy ornate French antique medallion pendant in 18k gold in a large size with striking patina, texture and gothic font. I have been looking for one of these with initials relevant to me, but no such luck on this one so I am letting it go. The letters look like CC or CG / GC.
This one is substantial, so beautiful with the engraved stripes and contrasting satin and high shine texture. It is a large size and weighs a Very sturdy 10.5 grams of solid 18k gold. Amazing quality and hand feel, even the back of the letters are engraved.
French hallmarks for 18k gold and goldsmith stamp on the loop.
Antique box not included.
Surface wear notable mostly to the high shine halo due to the mirrored finish.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Measuring 42mm from top of the bale to bottom and 30mm wide. It weighs a very sturdy 10.53g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it reflects its surroundings.
