ABOUT:

Versatile five stone antique stacker band with 5 old cut diamonds totaling over a carat, set in glowing and buttery 18k gold. This Victorian beauty has some fun quirks using a mix of old cut diamonds including one replacement stone on the end that is a transitional cut and is larger than the stone next to it (instead of graduating down a size). It gives it a sort of organic feel. Chevron / V details at each shoulder lead up to the diamonds. The stones are set in prongs so they almost float suspended in the buttercup / belcher setting to really catch the light. A beauty that glitters alone or can be layered with other pieces. And the diamonds have a nice bright white color comparatively to many antique stones.

No hallmarks remain, tests at 18k which is what it was sold to me at as well.

Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6. The center diamond is about 4.5mm and about 1/3 carat. It has a shallower cut than the chunkier old mine cuts. The flanking diamonds are 3.3mm each and the end stones are 2.7mm and 3.7mm (for the larger transitional). It is 6.8mm north to south on the finger and stands 3.7mm tall off the finger. It weighs 3.3 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique diamonds with some faint natural inclusions seen mostly under magnification. And only very slightly eye visible if at all (not to my eyes which are in their 40s! : ) and some are eye clean. The transitional cut has some frosty crystal speck inclusions including two that are polished at the surface and it reflects its large frosted culet. The smallest end stone has some very shallow flakes of loss at the bottom of one edge facet. No dark carbon spots. A worn prong here or there to keep an eye on over time. Each stone has at least one that is worn back, but has enough length on the others to hold it in place. This is typical for age and could be reinforced for daily wear by your local jeweler if desired (you'd want to find someone with a laser welder and ask them to do the minimum possible vs. re-tipping every prong and unnecessarily over working the piece to make it "like new"). Most of my buyers prefer original condition and special occasion wear. Gorgeous glowing gold patina. I noticed some build up on the underside of the stones, although I did clean it, so you might be able to detect a bit of that in the pictures but I will give it another soak and gentle brushing : )

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still wearable.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
