Back from my summer inventory trips to several countries / cities in Europe. I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered one at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:
I love jewelry with letters, initials, words, symbols, figurals, etc. so this one jumped out at me in Florence for that reason but also for the striking pop of color to the enamel.

This ring has a marquise shaped ring face set with the A in black enamel, with royal blue accents above and below. At each shoulder straps were added that are striped with robin egg blue enamel.

So the piece offers geometry, color and a wonderful history as well. The kindly gentleman I purchased this from in Florence told me these rings were used as betrothal rings, the "A" standing for Amore. This one adds a lovely interest to a ring stack and such a romantic provenance but could also be used as the letter of a name of oneself or a loved one, etc.

This one comes to the buyer with my very fond memories of that day, as the gentleman I purchased it from in Florence spent a lot of time with me, showing me his secret trays in the back and letting me see pretty much everything he had in stock that day since I am a dealer.

Our buying appointment became quite long but when we finished, he asked if I had some moments to stay, after which he shared with me a wheel of French cheese, honey and breadsticks and a chilled glass of rose while we sat and talked about life.

When I take these inventory trips, I am most days speed walking around many miles a day (in 90 degree heat) trying to hit all my stops. I see beautiful landmarks as I pass by but I take no tours or rest. This was a nice reminder of how things in Europe can move at a slower pace sometimes and it was so enjoyable for me as well to slow down as well and have a nice visit. I thank him! (It was in the afternoon, full sun off a busy street so I can assure you it was very professional and appropriate : )

This one does have a hallmark but I can't decipher it, it tests at 14k.

Antique boxes, props, mice, dishes ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:

Size 7.

Ring face is 15mm north to south and 7mm east to west and it stands 2.5mm off the finger. It weighs 1.7 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

This is an old one! The back inside of the ring face is hollow and the connecting points to the shank has some reinforcements. There is solder inside the ring face at one shoulder and a reinforcement behind one of the straps at the shoulder. This is not visible while wearing,. The piece is stable to wear and doesn't flex but it is on the thinner side with blunt edges to the wide band. A bit of loss to the black enamel. If it were me, I would fill it with enamel paint or even a sharpie pen which isn't permanent but completeles the pattern well and doesn't risk ruining the piece like enamel repair can do, as it is a bit of a lost art these days.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
