ABOUT:

Ever popular French antique half hoop skinny stacker band ring in platinum with nine old mine cut diamonds totaling around 1 carat in an elegant and timeless wide pronged setting. I love how the setting leaves a bit of a scalloped edge to the ring face instead of appearing as a straight line. It just adds another touch of texture and ornateness when stacked with flat bands.

This Paris find is a true half hoop with the diamonds extending all the way across the top of the finger and even beyond, with diamonds tucking in to the adjacent fingers. It appears almost as an eternity band until flipping it over where the back is platinum.

I like to view it from the side to see the varying crowns that we all love about old cuts popping out of the ring face. Layers perfectly with other pieces.

Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

HALLMARKS:
Found in France with their hallmark for platinum and a partial maker's stamp.

MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 6 3/4. Weighs 4.9 Grams.

The majority of the stones measure 2.7 to 3mm appearing mostly uniform in size across the finger.
Depths and cuts vary and exact measurements and thereby carat weights are unknown as I would never deconstruct and remove them but just estimates to around 1 carat total weight in diamonds.

Ring face is 4.1mm north to south on the finger and 3mm tall off the finger.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

A bit of wear to the prongs but they are the wide prongs that extend around the four ends of the stone so none of the stones move - but something to keep en eye on over time, the prong on the opposite side in the event it experiences wear over years and years.

Typical antique diamonds with some faint frosty inclusions that are slightly eye visible with no glaring carbon spots. Some warm to gray hues with varying sizes to the culets. One has an indented natural inclusions seen only under strong magnification and one has a chip to one corner with shallow flakes of loss leaving an unpolished area but to the eye in the settings they all appear complete and uniform in size. Kind of a more subtle sparkle to these old cuts with the warmer hues. Some stubborn build up behind where it could use a little more time in a soak and gentle scrub so I will give that another go which will brighten it up as well.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
