ABOUT:

Another five stone diamond band, this one crafted in 18k yellow gold with platinum prongs and totaling around 1.1 carat. I try to acquire as many as I can because they are so versatile and wearable that they are always very popular.

Antique ring in ornate gold with scrolled gallery. The ring face has a nice diamond encrusted look with ten additional tiny rose cut gemset prongs / diamond spacers at the corners between the larger stones. It adds extra texture and sparkle when the metal work is so covered with diamonds.

This one is a great stacker with the five stones propped up a bit instead of closely hugging the finger, so it layers well with bands especially. The prongs of the fine main stones are excellent making this ready for regular wear.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

HALLMARKS:
Found in England, stamped "18CT & Plat".

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 8 1/4. It weighs a little over 3 grams.
The center diamond is 4.5mm and about .42 carat alone and the other pairs are 3.7mm and 2.8mm, all with nice high crowns. The rose cut spacers are about 1.2mm.

Exact carat weight is unknown as I would not remove the stones from the antique setting but estimated total weight of around 1.1 carat.

Stands 4mm off the finger, 5.5mm north to south and 19.5mm east west for all the diamonds.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. One of the rose cuts on the end appears to be a replacement. It has three facets that are too uniform compared to the rough cuts of the rest of the rose cuts on the ring. Typical antique diamonds that have some faint natural inclusions, but honestly nothing glaring, very slightly eye visible if at all. No dark carbon spots. Not much warmth on this one despite the fact that antique diamonds were mostly cut from mines at the time producing warmer stones. The rose cuts are small rough cuts, imperfect and irregular, they always look this way when they are this age. With those being set into the prongs, that would be the only area needing gentler wear, the rest of the piece is exceptionally sturdy with the five larger stones extra secure in long prongs.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
