ABOUT:
One of my most popular styles to source - the wonderfully stackable five stone band. This one has a lot of unique elements with the five diamonds being almost uniform in size, and set in sunburst textured bezels to serve as an illusion setting to make the diamonds appear larger.
It is so fun to stack as it has a nice height off the finger and splays slightly to provide full coverage of diamonds across the top of the finger. It would make a wonderful anniversary ring or even engagement ring to stack next to a wedding band. Layers well with other pieces but substantial enough to wear alone too! The old cut diamonds have a lovely warmth, often sought after by antique collectors when it comes to antique stones, with one stone second from the end displaying a beautiful blush tone in some light. Overall well matching though, with just the slight difference in hues giving the piece a great antique look.
I acquired this piece in England. It is hallmarked 18CT Plat, with the shank in 18k yellow gold and the diamond settings in platinum as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal. This one grabs the attention for sure! I try to acquire as many of these diamond bands as I can because they are so versatile and wearable that they are quite sought after at the moment.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 7 1/4. It weighs 3.4 grams.
The diamonds are 3.5mm to 4.2mm each tapering just the slightest bit in size. Some nice chunky cuts with high crowns. I would not remove them for an exact measurement but estimates to around 1.2 carat total weight in diamonds.
The ring face splays 22mm east west on the finger from diamond to diamond and it stands 6mm tall off the finger.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Typical antique diamonds in that they have some natural inclusions, three of them appearing quite frosty overall. This is eye visible. They have a nice sparkle but they are all included to various degrees. Slightly varying hues as well, as expected for antique stones that were hand cut in a much more limited supply. No chips or cracks or really even nibbles but one stone has an indented natural inclusion to the table facet which is slightly eye visible.
Shank is sturdy but a worn prong here or there so this one needs gentler were. None of the stones move as each stone has three bead prongs holding it from all sides (or has all four prongs in good condition). And reinforcement of the bead prongs that need attention could always be done by your local jeweler if desired. It wears beautifully! But Due to age - please note this is not a mint condition item.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
