ABOUT:

I have over the years gotten a few requests to source four stone bands and here we have one. Somewhat uncommon in that the diamond bands usually come with 5, 7 or 9 stones for whatever reason.

To me it looks like the setting is Art Deco period, with the old mine cut diamonds earlier, and likely assembled into this ring using the stones from another piece (or pieces). I suspect this because the stones aren't uniform in size or the way they graduate which is kind of fun because it gives it a more antique / handmade / organic quirkiness. Love to see it in these one of a kind pieces!

Bright and sparkly, most of the stones are eye clean. The four are set in a slightly raised cushioned rectangle ring face to layer well with other pieces.

Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 6 1/2. It weighs 2.7 grams.
The largest diamond is about 5mm and half a carat alone, the other larger one in the center is 4.3mm and the two end stones are about 3.5mm each. For a total estimated carat weight of about 1 1/4 carat (1.25ctw). Depths vary and I would never remove them from the antique setting for an exact carat weight, so this is an estimate.

The ring face is 5.3mm wide north to the south on the finger and it stands 4.6mm tall off the finger. The four diamonds span about 16mm across the finger.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The largest two stones in the center move slightly in the setting. Like all my antique pieces, I recommend gentler wear as there is some wear to the bead prongs to keep an eye on. The center stone has some nibbles with a bit of loss to one outside edge / one area of the girdle. One of the smaller end stones has a few flakes of loss on one edge that appears as an unpolished area. These things are not glaring but seen mostly under magnification. Most of the stones are eye clean, just a faint frosty or speck inclusion seen here or there again more under magnification.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
