ABOUT:
An art deco 1.4 carat five stone old mine cut diamond band.
I purchased several stackable diamond bands on my last inventory trip to Europe and this one is my favorite of the current bunch due to the gorgeous warm hue of the diamonds. They vary slightly in hue but all warm to champagne to even a pale light brown - so lovely! I try to acquire as many diamond bands as I can because they are so versatile and wearable that they are always very popular.
It is actually widely accepted by collectors that the warm color of an old cut diamond is part of its appeal. Most of the rough diamonds at that time actually came from mines that produced warmer-colored diamonds so this fun to find in old cuts and often sought after by collectors (like myself! : )
Crafted in Antique 18k white gold which was a great choice to provide a contrast with the warm color of the stones. The antique diamonds are set in prongs that angle out from the gallery and give the ring face a rectangular shape. And the prongs are excellent making this antique beauty ready for regular wear! Those five stones aren't going anywhere!

HALLMARKS:
Found in England but stamped 14k L.K. which is different from the typical UK hallmarking so I'm not sure where this one was made.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
A snug Size 5 3/4. It weighs 3.5 grams.
The center diamond is 4.5mm, a chunky cut and over .4 carat alone. The flanking two stones are 3.9mm each and the diamonds on each end are about 3.6mm.
Exact carat weight is unknown as I would not remove the stones from the antique setting but estimated total weight of around 1.4 carat.
Stands 4.1mm off the finger, 5.8mm north to south and 18mm east west for all five diamonds.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition.
Two stones on one end each have some frosty flakes of loss to the surface leaving an unpolished spot on the top edge. They still appear round and complete, it is just a texture difference on the surface that is eye visible if you are looking for it. The end one also has a flake of loss to the underside that can reflect through the stone when studying it under magnification.
Typical antique diamonds that have some faint natural inclusions, slightly eye visible, no dark carbon spots and nothing glaring.
As mentioned, the stones display a gorgeous warmth. One end stone reads slightly whiter, and the center stone, while being warm in color, seems to face up brighter, but an appealing warmth to the piece overall, especially with the contrasting white gold. The hues can vary based on lighting conditions but always a noticeable. I showed it in photos next to a whiter five stone for contrast. I'll be wearing the two stacked together for contrast until one sells! : )
Shank is sturdy and with excellent prongs, this five stone is ready for daily wear. Only one end stone has one worn prong but is still surrounded and held securely. But Due to age - please note this is not a mint condition item.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
