ABOUT:

I love the versatility and stackability of three stone bands, especially the chunky ones that also make a statement piece worn alone. This one has it all with gorgeous coloring to the center natural emerald and the wonderful antique sparkle of the two eye clean (!) old mine cut diamonds. The emerald measures just under 1.5 carat and the diamonds total around 1.9 carat of wonderful antique sparkle making the perfect accents for the vibrant emerald.

These three stones are set in an ornate scrolled mount with diamond set prongs / diamond spacers. I have found it somewhat uncommon to find emerald three stone bands, (I most often find them with just diamonds or sapphires) but to find this one with the nice sized stones, is quite fun to behold and wear. Especially in such a sturdy and ornate 18k gold setting. Nice height to layer but also substantial to wear alone.

Found in England, stamped 18CT inside for 18k gold, the piece likely dating to the early 1900s Edwardian to Art Deco period. With it, I received a gem lab certificate / report for just the emerald, with its measurements and confirming it to be natural so I will include that (it was not tested for origin or treatment and the diamonds are not included on the report).

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is a size 4 3/4 on my mandrel. The prongs are in pretty good shape so this would be a candidate for sizing, but best to discuss with your local jeweler who would be doing the work, to see how far they would feel comfortable in sizing (sometimes you can email or text them photos for feedback). Usually they say within 2 sizes is a good guide and they often times make the shank more oval to accommodate sizing without bending the ring face as much.

One diamond is about 6.3mm close to round and is around .82 carat, the other is a more cushion cut measuring 6.5mm with a chunkier depth, measuring around 1 carat. I would not remove the stones from the ring for exact measurements but estimates to around 1.9 carat total weight in diamonds alone.

The emerald measures 7.8 by 6.9mm and is just under 1.5 carat (1.48).

Total carat weight of all gemstones is around 3.4 carats.

The ring face is 8.5mm north south and stands 4.7mm off the finger.
The ring weight is sturdy 5.75 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The diamond prongs are excellent, extra long and sturdy. One is pulled away slightly on one stone but there are 7 others holding it very securely. The emerald prongs show some wearing back but there are six of them and they are wide so the stone is secure. Something to keep an eye on over time for all antiques in original condition. The emerald occasionally "clicks" slightly when you tap it but only rarely so it is not moving much, does not rattle, etc.

Natural inclusions to the emerald but a really wonderful color and a lovely sheen and polish with just a few nibbles to the table facet seen mostly under magnification.

The diamonds are eye clean with just a wisp and needle inclusion seen under magnification to one stone. The other stone has a nibble to the girdle in one spot with a tiny flake of loss to the underside in that one spot, but it is hidden under one of the sturdy prongs so it not really eye visible. The diamonds have a nice "antique" sparkle. Although you may notice in some of the pictures how the side diamonds reflect the light differently because they are splayed outward and do not "face up" like the center stone which is perfectly perpendicular from the ring face to the eye view. This is how the ring was made, gorgeous from all angles.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
