ABOUT:
Timeless antique to very early vintage diamond dangle earrings!
Completely encrusted cluster earrings, each set with 45 old mine cut and old single cut diamonds - wow the sparkle of 4 carats of old cut diamonds - 90 diamonds almost blinding in the sun! I'm in heaven.

Excellently, sturdy push backs (that function perfectly) hold a smaller circular diamond cluster leading to a line of five independent bezel set diamonds attached by loop to allow movement from piece to piece. This leads down to the large round clusters which are also attached by a loop to dangle freely to catch the light. These fabulous clusters hold a half carat old mine cut in the center surrounded by two halos of old single cuts, each range slightly elevated above the next, to it to give the earrings a delicate dome. The halos are complete with milgrain details.

So bright and sparkly with a timeless design and still an eye catching antique look. Found in Paris, they have the French hallmarks on the posts and on the push backs for all parts 18k white gold. The posts are also stamped 750 which is the numerical hallmarking system used in Europe for 18k gold.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers draw them out to hold against the person to determine how they wear. Antique box is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:

Top of ear post to bottom of each is 40mm. Each round cluster is 13.5mm east west. They dome 5mm deep. The pair weighs a sturdy 9.3 grams.

There are 45 diamonds on each earring. The center largest old mine cut diamonds are 4.7mm each and about a half a carat. Each earring has six diamonds that measure about 2.5mm each (in the center of the stud and the five in the line leading to the cluster). The outside scalloped halo holds 18 diamonds and the inside ring holds 14 stones, all about 2mm each give or take. Then there are six smaller stones in the halo of each stud measuring about 1.5mm. Exact carat weight is not known as depths vary and I would never remove them but estimates to around four carats total weight in diamonds for the pair (2 carats tdw each earring).

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition.

All original condition. I don't see any welds or repairs, everything appears sturdily set and none of the stones move even slightly so really nice condition.

Typical antique diamonds with some natural inclusions, some of the smaller stones appearing quite frosty overall but with an excellent sparkle. One earring has two stones at the bottom with a shallow flake of loss leaving a frosty surface to part of the stone. The stones still appear compete and round to the eye as they fill the bezel space, but if you catch the surface up close in a reflection you can see the unpolished, frosty area where the flake of loss occurred. No large chips and no cracks, and really nothing glaring. The rest of the wear is just a nibble or flea bite here or there but this is not seen except with a loupe / strong magnification. Considering age - all things we expect to see on old cut diamonds. They have a very nice bright white sparkle overall but with some warmer stones including some warmth to the largest center stones, typical for antique old mine cut diamonds from the period when rough cuts came from mines that produced warmer stones. A few are an almost pale champagne in color - very beautiful, I love finding warm hues in my antique diamonds. I and many other collectors prefer them over the more common whites. Attention grabbing and wearable to dress up or down.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
