I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:

A French antique pair of old mine cut diamond stud earrings! Total carat weight for the pair is about .56 carat. Classic illusion setting with the prongs topped in a white precious metal to create a halo around the diamonds to make them look larger.

With sturdy screw backs that don't slip or slide and prongs that are in great shape so these antiques are ready for regular wear.

I couldn't find any hallmarks but sold to me as 18k which is the standard in France and tested to confirm. They have plenty of antique patina.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
About 4 to 4.2mm for each stone, one with more depth than the other but I couldn't get an exact depth measurement as the stone are set. Around .28 carat each give or take, so .56 carat for the pair.

The pair weigh 2.65 grams combined. In the illusion settings the earrings measure 6.7mm in diameter on the front of the ear when worn.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Note the screw backs have a closed round gold ball fabrication so you can only screw them in as tight as the depth of the screw backs, as the ear post eventually hits the inside of the gold ball meaning you can't tighten them all the way to the back of the diamond setting. This is not a condition issue as it was intentional and how they were made but wanted to mention it.

One stone is perfect in shape, the other has a small notch to the girdle on each side but it appears complete and round in the setting, it's just when you study them up close you can see the little nick to each side where it is slightly out of round, the one side looks like it is the result of an inclusion there on the girdle edge. Typical antique diamonds with faint frosty inclusions, and one has a smattering of tiny carbon so they are not the most pristine of antique stones, rather with the average quirks that we often see with these, having been cut in much more limited supply. Nothing is glaring, no large ink spots but rather a bit of frostiness, but they have a nice bright color and sparkle.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Thanks so much for looking at my items!
