ABOUT:
Popularly stackable old mine cut diamond band. This French antique piece is a Paris find crafted in 18k gold. It has a nice and extra chunky center old mine cut diamond with a really high crown.
As an added surprise, when you turn the ring to the side, you can see the beautiful openwork gallery with scrolling details underneath the linear domed face. This ring has great geometry.
HALLMARKS:
No hallmarks remain which is common for French pieces as they are marked in the back and often lost during a sizing or from wear. But sold to me from a reputable source in France where the standard is 18k and tested to confirm.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is a size 7 1/4. I would never remove it from its antique setting, but the center diamond is around .6 carat, measuring about 5mm with a nice, high crown.
The ring face is 6.5mm north south and domes 6.2mm off the finger.
The ring weight is 4.15 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamond with a slight warmth. Nice to see the beautiful center stone is eye clean as we often see more inclusions during the period, before such things were emphasized for machine cut diamonds. Just a few tiny speck inclusions seen only under strong magnification.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
