ABOUT:
An eye clean antique solitaire! This French antique piece from the early 1900s Edwardian period is crafted in platinum with a unique setting. The circular ring face has four large triangular prongs almost giving the piece a bezel set appearance but with openwork below to allow the light to pass through for added sparkle of the diamond.

A really unique setting. The platinum was intentional to serve as an illusion setting to make the stone appear even larger.

Exciting to find that the piece is ready for regular wear with the large prongs. French hallmark for platinum.

I love it in a mixed metal stack with a gold band or can go with really any other color metal.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

It is a size 4 - the shank is on the dainty side but it should be able to handle a sizing. Best to discuss with the person doing the work to determine their opinion. Usually they say within 2 sizes is a good guide. It weighs 1.8 grams.

Ring face is 7.5mm north south.
It stands 4.8mm tall off the finger.
The visible part of the diamond is 5.5 by 5.1mm as the prongs overlap the outside edge. Without removing the stone which risks damage to the stone and setting, I am getting about .67 carat.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The diamond is eye clean with just a few small specks seen only under strong magnification. It has a slight warmth typical for the period. The setting is on the daintier side but stable and the prongs are in good shape making it ready for wear.

Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Thanks so much for looking at my items!
