ABOUT:

Nice and chunky sparkle to this cluster ring, unique in a buttercup belcher setting with old mine cuts in the halo giving it a wonderful sparkle. Comfortable low profile setting with the halo set in prongs and the center stone in a bezel. These are complimented by the sleek and glowing, slightly domed and wide shoulders of the ring.

The piece is crafted in 14k gold. There are 9 diamonds in all. The center stone is the bezel settings is a brilliant cut so it appears to be a replacement. I don't find that it stands out as distractingly different

Found in France, it is stamped 585 on the inside, which is the numerical hallmark used in Europe for 14k gold.

Antique boxes, props, mice, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 1/4. Ring face is 11mm north south and 4.4mm tall off the finger. It weighs 4 grams.

Exact depths of the diamonds and thereby exact carat weight is unknown / approximate as I would never remove them, but estimated weight is over 2/3 carat in diamonds (about 0.7ctw). The center diamond is 3.5mm and the old mine cuts in the halo are around 2.2 to 2.5mm each.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique diamonds with some natural inclusions as we often see during the period, before such things were emphasized for machine cut diamonds. One of them at 3 or 9 o'clock has a dark carbon spot covering nearly half the stone and this is eye visible. The adjacent stone also has a bit of warm carbs that is less eye visible. The remaining diamonds have more faint frostier inclusions. Also typical in that they have some warmth. A worn prong here and there as we commonly find on pieces of this age, so this one needs gentler wear. I have priced it with these things in mind, but this would not be the piece for people who prefer their antiques ready for 24/7 wear with highly graded Four C's stones. Enough prongs remain to hold them securely and none of the stones move but something to always keep an eye on with antique jewelry in original condition, of course reinforcement is always possible if desired by your local jeweler. It's the outlining prongs that show the most wear. Excellent sparkle with a great antique look.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
