I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:

Ever sought after classic earrings with four old cut diamonds! Beautiful and eye catching French antique dormeuse / sleeper dangle earrings in 18k gold totaling around .9 carat.

Each earring holds a 4.5mm old mine cut diamond with an open back, in a ruffled illusion setting with an additional transitional cut diamond at the top for added sparkle. The bottom diamond settings are connected by loop to allow them to dangle and move to catch the light and sparkle.

Antique pair of earrings that I acquired here in the USA but hallmarked for and made in France. A classic French design. So eye catching and elegant in the lovely antique gold. They are inserted from the front of the ear so they are easier to put on than the more finicky ones that are put in from the back. The ear wires have hooked ends to latch into the lever backs for security.

These French "dormeuse" earrings translate to "sleepers" - meant to be dainty enough and comfortable to sleep in to keep the ear holes open for earring wear. Of course we don't recommend 24/7 wear on these 100+ year old pieces now with their dainty and intricate gold hinges.

These have the French hallmarks on the posts of each of them for 18k gold along with some goldsmith stamps.

Antique box not included. Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
The larger diamonds are about 4.5mm each. The little transitional cut accents on top are about 2.5mm each for a total carat weight of about .9 carat total for the pair. This is an estimate as I do not remove stones from their antique settings for exact weights.

They measure about 17 mm top to bottom from the top of the ear wire to the base of the earring. The illusion settings holding the larger stones are 7mm wide and 4.7mm deep.

This pair of earrings weighs 2.7 grams combined.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Sturdy prongs in excellent condition.

Typical antique diamonds with faint natural inclusions only very slightly eye visible. No really large inky spots but some faint frosty specks here and there seen more under magnification than with normal wear.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
