ABOUT:
One of my most popular styles - the wonderfully stackable five stone band. I try to acquire as many as I can because they are so versatile and wearable that they are always very popular.
Antique 18k gold ring with platinum bezel setting holding five old cut diamonds totaling around .6 carat total weight.
Lends an interesting geometry with a wonderful glow of antique gold and the 5 diamonds in just slightly graduating sizes.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
I acquired this piece in Sweden, it is stamped JWB 18 for the maker and 18k gold. With the linear face, it stacks well next to bands so it would make a wonderful anniversary ring or even engagement ring to stack next to a wedding band. SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 6 1/2. It weighs 2.1 grams.
The largest center diamond is 3.7mm. The adjacent two are around 3.3mm each. The end stones are slightly smaller, about 2.5mm each. I do not remove stones from antique settings for an exact measurement, but estimates to about 0.6 carat total weight in diamonds.
The ring face splays 16mm east west on the finger from diamond to diamond and it stands 3.5mm tall off the finger.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition.
Typical antique diamonds in that they have some faint natural inclusions. For the most part what is seen is under magnification. No large glaring ink spots or anything that jumps out with normal wear. A warmer wispy silk inclusion to one of the stones and another with a small smattering of carbon, but the stones aren't that big, each on their own so you have to seek it out.
The bezels look good, in age appropriate condition. Some rub marks to the vertical edges of the setting below the bezel of the largest center stone, it was clearly worn stacked so this is something we typically see : )
Shank is sturdy. But Due to age - please note this is not a mint condition item.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
