ABOUT:
This was one of the most popular rings in the previews and indeed it deserves the attention due to the sweetly designed face. Plenty of character to this one with such a unique design. My mom who traveled with me took to this one so she wore it often during the trip, including to a lovely afternoon tea with views of the waterfront and Gamla Stan in Stockholm where I purchased it. (Feel free to DM me for a video of the ring with the view! : )
The large rectangular plaque ring face has a diamond shaped design at center in black enamel inlaid with center natural sapphire surrounded by little rose cut diamonds in a sort of floral design, with additional tiny rose cuts in each corner for additional glints of sparkle. It has a sweet little pie crust design to the gold outline around the ring face and an open work gallery.
We know this one was always a ring the way the back of the panel face is curved to grace the finger comfortably, but I believe it was reshanked the way the ring face is applied to what appears to be a wedding band, although their patinas are well matching. 14k gold with rosy hues. The stone settings are in silver which has a dark patina giving the piece a moody and interesting vibe.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 9 1/4. It is fun to wear as a power pointer ring with the larger panel face.
Shouldn't be a problem to size since the panel ring face is applied to the wedding band like shank but always best to discuss with the person doing the work to see how far they feel comfortable going with it.
Weight 4.2g
Ring face is 16.5mm north south by 9.7mm and 3.7mm tall off the finger. The stones are very small.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Certainly has signs of age although it's wonderful to see the enamel has held up so well, with the design appearing complete with no large areas of loss to the underlying gold.
It is missing 4 tiny diamond chips total from three of the four corners (two are missing one stone and one is missing two stones, the other corner has all the stones.). I decided to sell this as is because with the dark silver of the stone settings, it just appears dark in the recesses of the vacant settings and blends in with the rest of the face. The stones are so tiny and each corner still has plenty of glints of sparkle, that my fear in attempting a repair would end up making it look worse. If repair is desired and tiny enough rose cut chips could be found (preferably salvaged so that again they don't stick out), my thought would be to use adhesive and avoid any heat which can ruin the enamel. Again the loss is not glaringly visible while wearing and I find the piece quite lovely as it is. Typical little rough cut rose cuts, irregular and frosty under magnification, again they are so tiny! Some little nibbles to the sapphire too seen under magnification but while the piece is dark and moody, it is not dull or lifeless.
There is solder at the shoulders and behind the ring face and the panel tilts just slightly to one side but I did not find this noticeable while wearing. The solder is not visible either except at the shoulders if you view the piece up close from the side to detect the silvery colored solder. It was certainly always a ring but the shank probably originally joined at the shoulders originally instead of the ring face being applied to what appears to be a wedding band or simple gold hoop which shows illegible remnants of a hallmark. It has a bit of a blunt edge. There are some nicks and chips and nibbles to the enamel but none to the underlying gold so it is not glaring until you study the surface.
Please note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.
Please also note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
