ANTIQUE Braided Link Watch Chain French Belle Epoque 13.8g 18k Gold Solid Victorian Necklace 14.75" Choker Dog Clip

ABOUT:

Classic antique watch chain with double connectors - a dog clip on one end and a larger spring ring on the other. These antique components hold value on their own but add them to an antique chain and it really makes a versatile piece for the neckless / neckstack. Shorter length fits me as a short chain, not quite a choker, but it could also be connected to other pieces to serve as an extender, multi chain bracelet, etc.

Please check the measurements as we all come in wonderfully different shapes and sizes. : )

French antique piece from the Victorian / Belle Epoque period. The piece is crafted in solid 18k gold, with each link a series of braided / interwoven bars of solid gold.

Nice and sturdy hand feel with this wonderful design. Shorter length for layering.

Found in France with their hallmarks for 18k in multiple places.

Antique boxes / any additional items in displays in photos are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 13.8g. Stretched end to end it's 14 3/4 inches, might fit just shy of that when latched. Each little link is 2.7mm at the widest and about 6.5mm long.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

I noticed the dog clip loop was a little off center when photographing. That has been fixed now to align better. The dog clip has a tiny gap when closed but both the dog clip and spring ring are nice and tight / springy so it does not come free.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
