Antique CROSS Pendant French Victorian Cobalt Blue ENAMEL 18k Gold Paste Bead Locket ? Compartment Faceted Split Ring Religious Gift

I take regularly scheduled inventory trips to Europe to offer you a selection of carefully curated antiques. These have all been hand picked one at a time and most are one of a kind.

ABOUT:
Beautiful cross pendant in really nice condition. This piece has three independent parts - the bottom cross, which dangles from a loop attached to the top scalloped portion of the bale, which is attached by loop to the faceted split ring, which is in itself a fun part / finding that could be swapped out with other pieces.

The cross and the scalloped bale are each accented with gorgeous and complete cobalt blue enamel for a beautiful color contrast against the glowing 18k gold. The bale and the center of the cross are each set with an open backed paste glass bead that is hollowed out inside, perhaps to originally serve as some sort of locket? Or maybe just to resemble a gemstone? There is some residue around the base of the glass compartments so it is fabrication I have not seen before.

I got this one in Sweden but it is actually French made with their hallmark for 18k on the loop.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person.

Antique Boxes, props, hooks, chains, mice : ) not included. I just used some staging chains to show examples of how to wear.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The enamel is in better than most condition with just one spot of loss at the very bottom of the scalloped bale, right above the loop. Some surface wear to the glass compartments. The split ring has a gap that remains open as seen in pics so it doesn't snap shut. This is pretty common with antique split rings and it still functions and works securely because you have to wind things through the multiple layers of ring to use it, so they don't easily come free anyway.

Sturdy and ready for wear.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
