ABOUT:
I am always drawn to figural pieces and have a fist chain I love (as well as one for sale) so of course I was drawn to this piece as well. An old watch key to wind a pocket watch, this 18k piece is double sided / reversible, with a fist holding a post with a bird nested at the top. Not sure what kind of bird it is, but it's a fun piece! Dates to the mid to early 1800s.
Makes an interesting pendant and you can also attach it to the end of chain and use it as a toggle through an extra large spring ring like seen in photos.
Stamped 18k on the loop.

There is a crease / gap to the gold at the back of the bird where the seam separated but it is still sturdy and stable. Some shallow impressions to the fist giving it a slightl ripple here or there but still very legible.
MEASUREMENTS:
34mm long.
It weighs a sturdy 3.05 grams. The inner part of the key is likely steel for strength.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
