Antique French Perpignan GARNET Oval Riviere Eternity Tennis Bracelet 18k Gold Bezel Set Rose Cut Closed Back Almandine Glowing Raspberry

ABOUT:

My favorite stone in all the world - the Perpignan garnet! These special jewels are trademarked and made only in that area of Catalonia France. There have only ever been a small handful of makers in all the world at a time that were trained in the multi step process of creating these special pieces.

This is an antique one I purchased when I visited Perpignan last spring, the day I went to the jewelry exposition / display - (feel free to ask me about this, I have tons of information about them I can share but don't want to overwhelm the listing). I am only not keeping it because I already have one - ; ).

The colors this one possesses are a richer berry red hue, with a pink inner glow. Like a ripe, juicy berry! While some Perpignan garnets are more of a purplish color, this one is a gorgeous glowing red, crimson with pinkish red rose flashes from within. The way these stones glow, with rich hues and yet they still manage to emit their own sparkle. So special!

Note that these can roll around on the wrist, which I also find fun because the gold domed back of the bezel settings are beautiful in themselves! Lovely to roll around in a wriststack!

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
Seems to be about 7 inches, I can't open it to stretch it end to end so that's just me awkwardly trying to wrap a tape measure around it : ). I think it fits a bit more snugly than that with the chunky bezels. I have a 5.5 inch wrist and it's too big for me with room to spare, but it wouldn't fall off without opening it.

Each stone is about 9.5mm and 7.5mm and 4.5deep with the domed backs.

It weighs 12.2 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Some patina but this one was well cared for, with a nice sheen and polish overall and a beautiful color and glow. No chips or cracks, no cloudiness. No deep dings or dents, just a nibble or nick here or there to the domed stones but overall an amazing color and glow. Some patina and a few shallow impressions to the domed backs that appear more like a bit of a ripple here or there due to the high shine finish.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
