I had a "clean out the jewelry box" moment this week and decided to release several pieces from my personal collection.

I love French antique jewelry and jewelry with words. This is an excellent Victorian example with a buckle / garter motif surrounding a center iridescent pearl. Boldly and clearly written in black enamel around the top is written "Amitie", which is French for "Friendship." Definitely a one of a kind piece - aside from Friendship, Amitie pieces were also given as love tokens and romantic gestures during the Victorian era.

The buckle was also a frequently used motif in Victorian times. It represented a memory and strength to hold the family together. In a more romantic application, the buckle represented eternal love, loyalty, protection, and an unbreakable bond.

I love the ornate detailing on all three sides of the ring shoulders for interest at all angles.

French hallmark for 18k gold with goldsmith stamp.  Rich antique gold patina. In really nice condition.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

It is a size 6. It weighs 2.6 grams.
The ring face is 10.4mm north south and the pearl is 4mm.

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Some of the white enamel in the center of the black lettering is worn from age but this one is in better than most condition considering age, very legible, beautiful patina, and wonderful lustre to the pearl.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Thanks so much for looking at my items!
