Antique INITIAL Ring M W VV 18 Old Mine Cut DIAMOND 18k Gold Ring Wide Double Band Romantic Gift Letter Stacker Monogram

Selling an assortment of antique jewelry that I have hunted for and gathered from all over the world to offer you. Some examples seen in the group photo which is also intended to help provide scale.

ABOUT:
I love initial jewelry! A beautiful antique initial ring of an M or a W or could also be a V V, studded with old mine cut diamonds. Wide and sturdy double shank makes this a great stacker with little bead / ball rivet spacers. The letter is set with 18 antique old mine cut diamonds for a chunky sparkle.

We often see these as conversions but this one appears to have always been a ring and is in all original condition. No hallmarks remain but sold to me as high carat gold and tested for me at 18k. The letter is topped with a white precious metal as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal. I don't scratch test this small area for fear of damaging the ring face or stones but they are always topped in either white gold, platinum or silver.

Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/4, a little over. It weighs 4.3 grams. The ring face is 11mm north to south and the double shank is 5mm wide all the way around. The diamonds are small, about 1.7mm each.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
I love the freeform, hand chiseled chunky old mine cut diamonds. Some are eye clean, a few with typical frosty inclusions or a small carbon speck. They are not huge diamonds so they just add a glint of sparkle and most of the inclusions are only seen under magnification. Typical for the period, they have some varying warm to gray hues with a great antique sparkle.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
