ABOUT:
I love a juicy antique garnet and these are among my finest finds so far with the shiny glossy surface to these glowing crimson stones! Just amazing condition to the antique stones the gorgeous and reflective collet setting wrapping around the base of the stones with a slightly domed pyramid gold backing.
I got these at an antique market in Paris. The garnets are from the Georgian to early Victorian era. The ear wires are alter. If you look at the backs, you can kind of see a little circle of gold at the center of the domed pyramid gold work so these must have been converted from something. Perhaps buttons? With the loops and ear wires then added. The great thing about it is that the stones are in such amazing condition as whatever they were before appear to have been hardly worn.
The ear wires have the French stamps for 18k gold and all parts test at 18k as well.
Mouthwatering color, they are just so reflective. Would be beautiful to wear at the holidays but also versatile to dress up or down throughout the year. They're wonderful.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
26mm top to bottom, the stones are about 12mm in the collet settings and have a nice 3D depth of 7.4mm. The pair weighs 5.2g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Amazing condition. No damage, just the gold backs / conversion mentioned above. The stones are in much better than most.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
