ABOUT:
Antique diamond cluster rings are always quite popular but this one I love especially for its mix of antique cut diamonds and the sleek and smooth setting. Prong set clusters are also popular but this one has the platinum bezel outline so it doesn't catch on things and is always comfortable to wear.

Also fun to see the mix of antique stones on one piece - the majority are old mine cuts, there is one old European cut with a smaller culet, and then the spacer / smaller fill in stones are rose cuts. This gives the ring face an all over sparkle.

The ring face is nice and spready and maintains a low height against the finger so it has a nice coverage and sparkle that is still comfortable.

This one came to me with a print out copy of an insurance valuation from 1993 valuing the ring at 1250 GBP which converted to about $1875 USD at the time. Using an inflation calculator over the last 33 years gives it a modern day evaluation at over $4,000 today. I don't really focus too much on paperwork as a dealer of one of a kind antiques but I will of course pass the printout along with the piece since it's part of its story. The ring is of course significantly older than the 1993 valuation, by at least 70 years : )

Found in the UK with their hallmarks for 18k Gold and Platinum. The ring face is topped in platinum as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal. The rest of the piece is yellow gold.

Antique Box not included.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:

Size 5
Weight 2.2 grams
Ring face is 12.3mm north south by 11.4mm east west. It is 4mm tall off the finger.

The three largest diamonds down the center are about 3.5mm each. The east west stones are 2.7mm and the rose cuts are 2mm each give or take. It was sold to me at .82 carat which seems to align with the measurements, this is an estimate as the stones were not removed for exact weights and depths vary.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Some of the stones are eye clean. No dark or glaring carbon. The rose cuts tend to read a bit more gray in ambient light comparatively because their faceting is completely different so you can see how they reflect the light differently when side by side. One of the north south end stones has an indented natural inclusion that creates one crevice along the outside facets. There are some faint frosty inclusions to a few of the other stones. One of the rose cuts looks a bit cloudy because I couldn't get it perfectly clean with the small settings. None of the stones move and the bead prongs look as expected for age, I pretty much always recommend gentler wear on all of my 100+ year old pieces unless it is a solitaire that has been reinforced, as I always sell everything in as found antique condition.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
