ABOUT:
A comfy and low profile antique diamond band with five chunky old mine cuts totaling about 0.65 carat.
Found in France, this one has their hallmarks for 18k gold (majority of the piece) and platinum (just the tops of the bezels are in platinum as was customary to set diamonds in a white metal.
I love bezel settings for their smooth comfort, won't catch on clothing and the bezels add to the size appearance of the diamond. The stones graduate in size and this one layers very well. Ready to wear!
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 5 3/4. It weighs 2.8 grams. Ring face is 5.5mm north to south and 3.4mm tall off the finger.
The largest center stone is about 3.9mm, flanked by two stones around 3.1mm and the end stones are about 2.4mm each. Chunky cuts. I would not remove them for exact measurements and the bezels cover the north south ends, also exact depths are unknown but estimates to about .65 carat total weight in diamonds.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Comfortable and sturdy, ready to wear.
Four of the diamonds have better than most clarity for the period being eye clean with just a speck here or there under magnification. One stone second from the end has an eye visible carbon spot.
Slight warmth but nothing really glaring, the stones have varying sized open culets, some being quite large which give them that moodier antique sparkle that we love.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
Thanks so much for looking at my items!
