ABOUT:
Timeless design and an eye catching sparkle with the interesting mix of old cut diamonds. The ring face is a circular target design with a center bezel set old mine cut diamond, surrounded by a halo of rose cut diamonds with two in the halo being old mine cuts. I actually thought the entire halo was rose cuts until I studied it under magnification and saw the little culets : )
Always fun to find a mix of old cutting styles on the same piece. The center old mine cut is 4.4mm and about .35 carat alone.
A classic antique stacker! Found in France. No hallmarks remain which is actually common for French pieces as they are marked in the back and often lost during a sizing or from wear. But sold to me from a reputable source in France where the standard is 18k and tested to confirm.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 3/4
The piece weighs 2.4 grams. It stands 5.6mm off the finger. The ring face is 10mm north south.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some natural inclusions. The center stone has an indented natural inclusion on one of the side facets and a frosty speck, slightly eye visible if you are seeking it out but it is not glaring. Typical antique rose cuts, some a bit warm, others with less faceting or a thinner slice. Some frosty unpolished edges and some frosty specks but no damage.
Sturdy setting with no movement to any stones.
When viewing from one side, the ring face seems to list slightly but this is not seen while wearing, it faces up normal and is comfortable to wear. Just something I noticed while studying it off the hand (I'm pretty picky to note every little thing I see).
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
