I take regularly scheduled inventory trips to Europe and around the USA to find unique antique items to bring you (see my instagram to follow along! : ). Some additional examples of my typical inventory seen in the group photo - These pieces were all hand picked one at a time to assemble a collection that I hope you will enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:
So fun to have a mix of old cut diamonds on one piece! This French antique ring crafted in platinum has the lovely scalloped daisy cluster ring face.

At the center is a nice and wonky eye clean old mine cut diamond with off center culet. It is set in a custom made heptagon / septagon shaped bezel. Full disclosure - I had to google what a seven sided shape was called because usually we see them set in hexagon or octagon settings but this setting surrounding the center stone has seven sides.

Then in the halo of the ring the fun continues with seven disco ball rose cut diamonds with nicely domed crowns, one is especially chunky. These are the antique dutch (or also named holland, Antwerp or crowned rose cuts) with the high crowns. We often find many pieces from the period where the rose cuts are more thinly sliced discs so it's fun to find an original antique with more chunkiness. We love to see these in open backed settings which are harder to find.

The ring faces up at around 1 1/2 carats so a lovely presence and wonderful sparkle on the finger.
Found in France with their hallmark for platinum on the back and some goldsmith stamps.

Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 6 1/2, slightly over. Weighs 3.15 Grams. The ring face is 12.5mm north south and 4.5mm tall off the finger.

The largest center old mine cut diamond is 4.4mm and about a third of a carat. The seven rose cuts in the halo are about 3.5mm each give or take with varying depths.

Like most rose cuts they have a lower comparative carat weight than a modern diamond but the surface area gives it the appearance of a larger carat stone as Rose cut diamonds are more spready. These do have chunky crowns though. It is difficult to speculate on carat weight without removing them from the setting, which I would never do. But it faces up at around 1.5 carats in appearance.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The diamonds are very nice quality. The old mine cut is eye clean and the rose cuts have a better than most clarity for the period as well. Most of the rose cuts are eye clean with just a frosty speck or fleck seen under magnification and one with the tiniest carbon specks not seen by the eye. One stone has an indented natural inclusion on the surface and another one on the inside edge creating a notch. You should be able to seek this out in the zoomed photos of already zoomed images which will accent it much more than what is seen while wearing. On the hand, all the stones appear complete and fill the setting. Some frosty facets from having been cut before modern technology which we expect and want to see. No large or glaring inky spots and none of the stones appear frosty throughout so again clarity is better than most. The bead prongs to the setting are also quite good considering age although I always recommend gentler wear on pretty much all my antique pieces with multiple stones.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
