ABOUT:

This one has a large footprint with amazing color and sparkle. A dramatic navette ring with center oval natural emerald measuring around 0.4 carat. It is surrounded by a halo of glittery old mine cuts and flanked by additional old mine cuts in a line down the center for a total of around 1.4 carat total weight in diamonds. Each shoulder of the ring is also encrusted in rose cuts to add to the sparkle.

The ring face measures 1.2 inch north south so it is a beautiful statement piece.

Found in Switzerland but I suspect it is French in origin. It is crafted in 18k gold and topped in platinum, no hallmarks remain.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/2

The ring face is 30mm north south by 10mm and stands 4.2mm off the finger. Each of the larger diamonds is about 3.5mm and the many in the halo are around 1.7mm. I would not removed the stones and their shapes and sizes / depths vary but estimated around 1.4 carat total weight in diamonds with the emerald sold to me as .4 carat.
The ring weight is 4.7 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique diamonds with some faint natural inclusions, several appearing slightly frosty. They have some nicks and nibbles and a warm hue here or there, but they are quite small so they really add more of a chunky glittery texture to the halo surround. The larger flanking diamonds have a nice clarity with only a very slightly eye visible speck here or there. The rose cuts are also typical with some frosty spots. The emerald has some natural inclusions and some abrasions to the table facet that can catch the light but still a nice sheen overall with wonderful coloring. One diamond on one end appears to be a later replacement. The bezels are secure and none of the stone move but I always recommend gentler wear on rings like this with so many small stones (although I see more loss on vintage and new rings with these settings than I do with the well made antiques).

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
