Antique Oval Filigree Swirl Link LONG Guard Chain French 9k GOLD Solid Necklace Ornate 27.25" Layering Double

ABOUT:

Ornate link French antique long guard chain. Each oval link is openwork with little beaded swirls and center rivet design. These alternate with sections of smaller cable chain all the way around. Really wonderful detail to each of the chain links.

This can be worn long or with the clasp can be opened to wrap double around the neck as a short choker (please double check the measurements for how it will wear for you, as we all come in wonderfully different shapes and sizes : )

Found in France, this piece has several stamps - the French symbol hallmark for 9k gold, and a 375 stamp, the numerical hallmark used in Europe for 9k gold. The alligator clasp is stamped 9k as well, along with a goldsmith stamp on the loop. Lovely patina with a buttery glow.

This one is striking worn alone but adds a beautiful texture and design layered with other chains as well.

Antique boxes / items in displays in photos are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 13.8g. Stretched end to end it's 27.25 inches. The oval links are 16x6mm.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. It has a beautiful glow. One of the links at the back is notched from when the gold was tested for selling in the secondhand market. It is still stable and seen more under magnification.
