I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:

I love finding and offering up French antique diamond bangles but usually I find them with old mine cuts so I was excited to offer something different with this one.

Hard to find original antique period pieces with rose cut diamonds in open backed settings. So often they are closed and foiled which are also wonderful but tend to darken over time so it's intriguing to see rose cuts in all their glory with their disco mirror ball facets to wink and catch the light.

Ornate setting crafted in 18k rosy gold. Each diamond is set in a sort of ruffled setting topped in platinum with fleur de lis crown like prongs. The ruffled white halo around the stones serves as an illusion setting to make the diamond appear larger by surrounding them in white metal.

I got this one in Paris, it has their hallmarks on the clasp.

Antique Box IS INCLUDED and I believe it is original to the piece. It came to me this way so I wanted to pass it along with it. Please note the measurements.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs a very sturdy 20 grams. It is about 6.5 inches around the inside with a tape measure wrapped within it the best I can do (this is an estimate as I can't get the tape exactly nested. Inside dimensions are 57mm by 48mm if I measure the distance across the opening in each direction, if you want to compare that to some of your other bangles. I have a 5 1/2 inch wrist and it is too large for me. : ( I can't slide it off my hand without opening so I could wear it in a stack, but it spins around my wrist so it would be better on a larger wrist. And with the safety chain, it opens to slide over a larger wrist.

Rose cuts are by nature "spready", facing up larger than their carat weight since they have flat backs and no pavilions. It is difficult to measure them accurately without removing them to put them on a scale which I would never do. These are freeform in shape so they wouldn't follow calculations by formula. The largest center old mine cut diamond is 6.1x5.6mm facing up at around .7 carat comparatively. The others are 3.5 to 4.5mm each. Face up value for the bracelet is 2.8 carats, again with the flat backs, actual carat weight is less as some are sliced quite thing.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The gold part of the bangle is in great condition and very sturdy for age. The hinge is tight, the clasp is very clicky and secure. A worn prong here or there but all the stones are well held and surrounded and none of them move.

The rose cuts show some wear though with one having a notch and several others have some nibbled outside edges due to the thin girdle edges with the flat backs.

Typical for antique diamonds though they do have some inclusions. Some are eye clean, one of the smallest stones has a smattering of carbon specks and one other has 3 carbon flecks but no large inky spots so it is not glaring to the eye while wearing until studying each stone individually. The other rose cuts have some frosty spots from natural inclusion and some frosty or unpolished edges. Two of the stones are pale yellow under lit magnification.
All these things are typical for the period. This is a unique and special Paris find not commonly found in the marketplace.
Beautiful coloring, shine and patina.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
