ABOUT:
Cutie Patooties in a just right size for regular wear to dress up or down.
These sweetie French antique earrings are crafted in three parts and connected by a loop to allow movement so that they can catch the light and sparkle whilst they dangle.
At the top is a bezel set diamond stud which leads to the center linear post holding two diamonds and then the bottom portion is the dangling daisy floral cluster of rose cuts. Each earring holds 12 rose cut diamonds set in milgrain settings appropriate for the period with that little hand tooled added design detail (they used a little post with a teeeeeeny tiny pizza cutter looking wheel to create this).
So cute! With jeans or a little black dress, even a wonderful something old for a bridal situation. : )
Found in Paris with French hallmarks on the posts for 18k gold (note that the ripples seen are not damage but the hallmark strikes). They are crafted in yellow gold with the diamonds' settings topped in a white precious metal as was customary for the period (white gold or platinum).
Any props / boxes not included.
Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
The clusters are 8.7mm in diameter. They are 34mm from the top of the stud to the bottom of the cluster.
The largest diamonds at the stud portion are 3.9mm with a nicely domed top. The diamonds on the post are 2.9mm and the center of the flowers are 2.7mm. The smaller rose cuts on the flower petals are 2.2mm. Rose cuts are spready in nature appearing larger than their carat weight with their flat backs. I would not remove them for exact weight but they face up at about 1.6 carat total for the pair (actual carat weight is less since the stones have no pavilions.
The pair weighs 4.15 grams combined.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique rose cut diamonds with frosted girdle edges and freeform shapes. Under magnification, one center stone as an example appears to have loss on one edge but it is actually well polished and just a situation where the freeform shapes of the old rose cuts do not fit exactly into perfectly round bezels. No gaps are eye visible and all the stones fill their setting. These rose cuts have a nice little dome to them, the dutch rose cut method, compared to many from the period with lesser facets and a flatter disc shape. Also typical that they have some frosty natural inclusions, again nothing glaring because the stones aren't that large. Beautiful glints of antique sparkle. Sturdy push backs. Each earring has one little spot of yellow gold to the otherwise white precious metal top, you might be able to seek this out in the zoomed images of already zoomed photos but again it is not glaring, all components appear to be original to the antique earrings and there are no replacement stones.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
