ABOUT:
Perfectly stackable and always classic three stone old mine cut diamond ring in 9k gold with platinum bezels. I love this one for the shades of yellow to the antique diamonds. The center is a fancy light yellow, one adjacent is a pale yellow and the other is a warm to pale yellow. Varying shades of yellow on the same piece, having been cut from mines that produced warmer rough during this period. To be honest, I bought it for the colors as I love the antique stones with hues. Diamond bands are always so popular as they layer well with other pieces but are also often worn alone.
This versatile design can make a fun self gift, or is also seen with romantic connotations. The three stone design became popular in the antique period for use as an engagement ring and in the current period as an anniversary / right hand ring. The three stones can be thought to represent past, present and future or also friendship, love and fidelity as well as mother, father, child... or even me, myself and I : ).
Found in the UK, with their hallmarks.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7
The center diamond is about 3.6mm and the adjacent two are slightly smaller at about 3.3mm each.
The piece weighs 1.65 grams. It stands 3.3mm off the finger. The ring face is 11mm east west with the three stones.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some natural inclusions. The center stone has the largest one, adding an eye visible frost to one area if you are seeking it out but it is not glaring and the beautiful color helps mask it. Sturdy setting with no movement to any stones.
Some wear to the gallery / rub marks to the vertical edges and unevenness to the gold work inside the ring face, but appears to have been how it was made.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
