ABOUT:
Classic old mine cut diamond three stone band. Sweet and sparkly worn alone, and layers well with other bands. The old European cut diamonds appear almost uniform in size to the eye, and total around 3/4 carat.
Found in Sweden with their hallmarks for 18k, Stockholm, date stamp 1930.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 1/4. The diamonds are 3.8mm to a little over 4mm each, appearing almost uniform in size to the eye. I would not remove the stone for an accurate measurement but just using online estimates and calculators it is around 0.75 carat total weight.
The piece weighs 2 grams. It stands 4.7mm off the finger. Ring face is 4.5mm wide north to south by 12mm east west measuring the diamond settings.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The back of the shank is worn a bit thin and feels blunt when rubbed against the finger - something to keep in mind if planning to wear it tightly on a finger or if planning to have it sized, you may want to discuss with your jeweler prior. Some rub marks to the vertical edges from stacking.
I don't prefer to grade my antique diamonds with the Four C's grading scale which came about way later for machine cut diamonds with mathematically perfected facets. The scale does not do antique stones justice as they were expertly hand cut in a much more limited supply compared to the millions of carats of machine cut diamonds made each year now. But the diamonds are eye clean. I was told F to J in color and VS/SI in clarity. They have a nice fire and don't read overly warm. A versatile classic!
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
