Antique VICTORIAN .5 Carat Tdw Old Mine Cut DIAMOND 18k Gold Bezel & Bar Pendant on Chain Necklace Layering Minimalist Geometric OmC

ABOUT:

A unique and wonderful Victorian necklace! This one has an uncommon design with an Exceptional bezel set diamond which connects to two chains leading down to the bar pendant which is set with eight additional old mine single cut diamonds. Total carat weight is about half a carat.

I mention the top stone being exceptional because it is bright white, crystal clear and extra fiery - always fun to find in these antique pieces where the diamonds were cut in so much more limited supply compared to the millions of carats produced each year now. It's not a huge stone, measuring about 1/3 of a carat but it's a special one, really catches the light and sparkles and stands out from the crowd under magnification seeing how few to no flaws it has.

This is an all original Victorian era antique necklace with old 18k hallmark on the clasp and a uniquely shaped loop connector. But I love that it is still so on trend for today! Adding geometry, sparkle and interest to a neckstack or a more minimalist statement worn alone. Love this one!

Note the pendant does not move, all the parts are fixed to the dainty chain which has a gorgeous, rich and warm antique patina.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

The top diamond is about 4.2mm and about 1/3 carat / 0.33 carat. The eight smaller old cuts in the bar portion are about 1.7mm each give or take. This brings it to about half a carat total weight / 0.5 ctw - this is an estimate as I would not remove them for exact weight.
The chain is 15 1/2 inches in length stretched end to end.
Weight: 4.3g
The chain gauge is 1.3mm.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Antique patina and the tiniest age related wear to the chain but exceptional larger diamond. One of the smaller diamonds has a larger carbon inclusion which leads the stone to reflect a bit more gray than the others but those stones in the bar are smaller and just add a beautiful linear detail and glint of sparkle.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
