ANTIQUE Victorian NECKLACE Pearl Slide Extra Long Guard Muff Watch CHAIN Layering 5.7g 10k Gold

My next stock drop is an assortment of antique chains and pendants!

This long guard chain with pearl slider has the most rich antique gold coloring. It is 10k and yellow gold in hue, but actually looks like a high carat gold with how rich the coloring is. The maker's really did a fine job with the alloys, the gold really shimmers and glows.

These Victorian antique long guard chains are quite versatile to be worn in different ways. Extra long in length, they can be worn with the slider to the side or at the bottom above the dog clips as a pendant holder. The slide still has cork remaining inside to provide tension to hold it in place as you slide it up or down (which is quite uncommon to find). The piece appears to have hardly been worn with the slide in excellent condition.

Note that the continuous hoop chain does not have a clasp anywhere to open it, it is the type you would slip over the head. I did an instagram post on how these can be styled, clipped to itself doubled or slipped over the head. This would have been used in the past to hold a pocket watch. But now it makes for interesting period piece for your neckstack.

This piece is in a warm antique gold. It displays a lovely shimmer and glow. It is stamped 10k on the dog clip. It is also stamped with maker's mark H.A.B. & Co.

Length: 48 inches of linear chain (four feet!)
Weight: 5.7g
Gauge:dainty 0.6mm.
The slide is 8x7mm.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The dog clip is a rosier gold hue than the yellow gold of the chain but all components are 10k.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
