Love love love antique aquamarines! When my dear and wonderful Grams and Gramps had passed, I began searching for antique aquamarines. It was the month of their anniversary and both of their birthstones, and the stone in my Grams' engagement ring. After about a year of hunting for the right piece at the right price for me, I ended up finding a French foil backed aquamarine ring that I absolutely love and wear to think of them. But my fondness for these stones really grew during that period of hunting and I discovered they aren't super easy to find.

Also in my searching I found that I prefer them in the closed back foiled settings even more than the open back settings - it just gives them a different / wonderful antique sparkle to their amazing coloring. So when I saw these beautiful stones as a pair of broken cufflinks, I got stars in my eyes all over again and decided to grab them and convert them to charms / pendants.

Really beautiful pale blue to seafoam green hues to the aquas. Found in excellent condition since as cufflinks they were more gently / occasionally worn. The four I have were made from a pair cufflinks attached by chain to a loop in the center of each domed back. I had my jewelers remove the loops, smooth down the domed backs of the bezels and add loops to the top.

These antique pieces are crafted in 18k gold, the French hallmarks were on the parts that had to be removed but I purchased them in France and 18k is the gold standard there. They have a lovely patina, some dark patina in a few spots and silvery hues around the bezel but all read as antique gold with patina and test as such. The loops added were 14k in order to better match the antique patina of the body of the pieces (my jewelers always use whatever components visually match the best and I ask them not to polish them so they continue to appear as antique gold).

As seen in the photos, the jump rings can be somewhat small, something to note depending on your chain size, or the buyer can add an additional larger jump ring. My favorite way to swap these out is clipped to a dog clip / clasp instead of having to run them on a chain each time.

Listing is for the one pendant with four available, these could also be added to ear wires to wear as earrings, or as a matching bracelet charm and pendant. Would be a beautiful something old / blue for a bride as well.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A few small fleabites but the stones are in better than most condition for age. Some natural inclusions visible within the stones and a bit of faint cloudiness in spots to the foil from age to the antique foil backs, but again better than most for age with no dark or muddy rusty spots. We should avoid getting these wet. A few gradual shallow impressions to the domed backs but no sharp dings or punctures. Antique patina.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
