Back from my Spring Sourcing trip with a big pile of vintage and antique finds. Feel free to follow along on instagram! New listings coming every week for the foreseeable future.

ABOUT:
I love these low profile bezel set antique diamond rings. They are so comfortable to wear, the bezels creating a smooth surface compared to prongs, and making the diamond look a bit bigger with the trick of surrounding it with white metal.

This looks like an engagement ring to me but also wears beautifully as a diamond stacker band. Call it a solitaire with accents, or a seven stone, the 1.85 carats total of old mine cut diamonds provide a nice chunky texture in this beautiful setting. Most of the diamonds are eye clean (which we of course love to find in our antique diamonds) and at center is a chunky cut measuring one carat alone.

A unique but classic setting. Did you notice the sweet little engraved detail around the base of the bezel setting?!

No hallmarks remain but sold to me as 18k white gold and platinum and tested to confirm (the platinum portion is the top / ring face where the stones are set).

I love this one with a buttery gold band to add a bright sparkle to a mixed metal stack but it also works with platinum or white gold stacks. Found in the UK on my recent sourcing trip.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 7 1/2.
I do not remove my stones from their antique settings for exact measurements as my items do very well without paperwork. Total estimated carat weight of the entire ring is about 1.85 carats. The center diamond is 6.2mm and a chunky cut, measuring one carat alone. The flanking stones are 3.9 and 3.5mm, then 3mm, then 2.5 and 2.8mm for the end stones totaling an additional .85 carat conservatively (it was sold to me as 2 carats total). Again this is an estimate measuring them while set.

The piece weighs 3.85 grams. The bezel setting is 6.8mm north south. It is 4.3mm tall off the finger to the crown of the center stone.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Most of the diamonds are eye clean. The center stone has a crystal formation of natural needle inclusions along one edge that is hidden in the faceting and with the strong kozibe effect of the stone, very slightly eye visible only if seeking it out. Otherwise just a faint speck here or there, no dark carbon and nothing glaring, very nice quality for a collection of 7 antique stones. Slight warmth to the center stone and one other but they appear lively and overall well matching. A bit of wear to the smaller bead prongs in the shoulders to keep an eye on over time. I always sell my pieces as is in original antique condition so for daily wear, very slight reinforcement of the diamonds in the shoulders could be done if desired. We just always try to do the minimum possible to avoid overworking the piece and making it like new.

No chips or cracks, nicks nor nibbles, no frosty flakes of loss, the stones are in excellent condition.

My items do very well without paperwork so I do not remove them from antique settings to send for certification but always provide as much detail as possible with measurements, condition notes and many extra photos (see website for more) to capture it true to life in various lighting conditions, which can be translated to grading scales if desired as my descriptions are more detailed than a letter grade.

Please also note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
